  TABLOIDS ON TRIAL

In the 1970's, "What the Papers Say" was a successful low cost series with guest celebrities hosting. We intend the same format of trash headlines and a spoken review of the humorous text content.

A continuing television series of 30 minutes segments exampling the madness of the headlines, text and photographs found in tabloids, magazines, newspaper gossip pages and trash television shows.

There are over a 100 UK sources for culling not including the US and European magazines. Both of which have the potential for another series.

The accent will be on humour and parody with photographs and paparazzi style video. With low cost HD cameras, video reporters will scour the streets and pubs for the public's opinion, for and against. Countrywide television station news teams will be encouraged to cover their local beat for material, both text and video.

Stock footage of previous generations will be a highlight in the show with further offshoots as the concept develops. Clips from "What the Papers Say" of the  1970's could be a feature for historical reference.

The internet will prove resourceful for similar content as will radio and "man in the street" interviews.

A web site will be created to encourage the general public to send in examples of trash headlines and supporting text material. Should they have video footage of appropriate local events or headlines then that source will be utilised. Prizes will be awarded for the most amusing and or the most outrageous submissions.

Assistance and possible funding should be considered from the various sources researched as the adage "any publicity is good publicity". A proven rule in this marketplace.

Revenue can be expected from the sources themselves and from the sale of the commercial break time. Product placement will also be considered as will a sponsor name, top and tailing the program. This could change each series or program if required.
